The Technology iN Training Laboratory (or TNTLab) is the research laboratory run by Richard N. Landers, Ph.D., responsible for coordinating the SOCL Project.

The purpose of the TNTLab is to research technology as it can be used to improve both the study of work and work itself.

Many technologies are blindly adopted by organizations and educational institutions with little research to support those decisions. The mission of this lab is to sort the wheat from the chaff - to investigate how knowledge and skill acquisition is affected by the use of new technologies and further, to refine those technologies to improve outcomes. We thus operate at the intersection of several fields - industrial/organizational psychology, human resources, organizational behavior, educational psychology, educational technology, instructional design, and many others.

Our current focus is on the use of technology to improve training and education through the use of online social networks, augmented reality, virtual worlds, virtual reality, interactive web-based applications, and any other technology that we can get our hands on.
